I'm a little late to the video, but thank you for this. I was able to do a research project for an introductory anthropology of religion class, and chose the Sami to focus on. According to "Ancestry" (and my auntie), our family may have Sami blood. Considering we have definite ties to Scotland and Scandinavia, this is not a difficult connection to imagine. That aside, I was wondering if you happened to read any of Emilie Demant Hatt's work from the early 20th? She worked with Johann (Sp?) Turi on a written account, and she tells of her own experiences with the Sami. I especially like her book of Sami folktales. This got me interested in doing an independent research project on the origins of Baba Yaga. 😊
